Well another one bites the dust for the  Birds. The 2nd Eagle goes down in only the 4th full team practice on Monday  afternoon. Newly signed LB Jason Phillips was injured in a non-contact drill  during Monday’s afternoon practice which he needed to be carted off.

RB Lesean McCoy talked to the media after  practice, he kind of let the cat out of the bag with his comment that the Eagles  have now lost two players for the season. The Eagles then made the speculation  official with the announcement that the linebacker tore his ACL in his right knee .

The 5th year veteran has played in 30 games(2  starts) and has recorded 17 total tackles throughout his career as a reserve  linebacker but he made his money on special teams. He was a valuable special teamer where he led the Carolina Panthers in 2012  with 16 special team tackles and he has experience playing in a 3-4  defense.

The Eagles signed the veteran linebacker to a  2-year contract back in March. He was competing for a backup role behind  starters Demeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks. In his place the Eagles have signed  undrafted rookie ILB Travis Long to a 1 year deal.
