Overall SeriesGreen Bay 26-15, Eagles are 4-16 on the road against the Packers and 4-8 at Lambeau Field

Streak: Packers have three straight games and 3 of last 4 at home.

Last Meeting: January 9th, 2011 – Green Bay 21, Eagles 16

-The Eagles hosted their first playoff game at home in 5 years as they took on the Green Bay Packers in the 2010 NFC Wild Card Round after the crazy season they had with QB Michael Vick under center. Green Bay jumped out to a 21-10 lead after a 3 touchdown throws by Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. But the Eagles fought back to get within a score 21-16 after a Vick-Avant TD. The Eagles had a shot for the game-winning score late in the game as the Eagles got into the redzone. But Vick throws a costly interception that was intended for WR Riley Cooper in the back of the endzone. And that was the last time we saw the Eagles in the playoffs.

Keys To Victory

-Control Packers Running Game: The Packers have the 2nd ranked rushing offense in the National Football League. And a big part to that success has been RB Eddie Lacy who has been on a tear over the last month. With QB Aaron Rodgers out for this game, they will rely on the running game and Lacy to move the football. The Eagles have impressed against the run only allowing one 100yd rusher all season long. They need to contain Lacy and force the Packers to become one dimensional and make backup QB Seneca Wallace try to beat them with his arm to keep them in this football game.

-Jump Out To A Early Lead: One key thing we haven’t seen from the Eagles much this season is getting off to a quick start and get themselves a big early lead. We need to see some of that today and get in a rhythm early to jump on the Packers on the scoreboard and force them to get away from their gameplan to play from behind. And force Wallace to try and beat them.

-QB Nick Foles consistency: Foles is coming off his record tying 7 TD performance and not many expect him to duplicate a game like that again but one thing we need to see from Foles back to back consistent games. He has been on a tear to star the season, 13 TD and 0 INT to start the season and he needs to build upon the game last week. It’s just uncertain which Foles we will get, Raiders or the Dallas game?

-Rattling Packers QB Seneca Wallace: This goes back to the first point, if the Eagles can control Lacy and the Packers rushing attack Wallace will have to step up to make plays and try to lead the Packers to victory. Wallace is making his first start since 2011 and the 23rd start of his 8 year career. He looked rusty last week and the inexperience from Wallace could work in the Eagles favor if they can generate some type of pressure and force him to make mistakes with the football.

Prediction: 28-14 Eagles… No QB Aaron Rodgers, the Eagles D is playing the best football we have seen in a long time and QB Nick Foles riding the high and confidence of last week’s performance. Eagles offense just has too much firepower for the Packers D to really handle and don’t see Seneca Wallace being a difference maker to make enough plays to keep the Packers in this one. It comes down to the Eagles rushing D containing Lacy on the ground and this should be a pretty manageable win.
