According to the a post on the Philadelphia Eagles official website, WR Riley Cooper has returned to the practice field just days after a video of him using a racial slur went viral.
Cooper was excused from team activities in order to receive counseling for his erratic behavior and choice of words. It was expected that Cooper was going to M.I.A. for an undetermined amount of time, but just days? Although nothing was mentioned in the report, I’m sure Cooper will continue counseling through the season and however long it takes for him to understand his words can have a negative ripple effect throughout a community.
It will be interesting to see how NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will react to learn of Cooper’s return, and whether or not his stance no not issuing a fine to Cooper will stand.
